我感兴趣的是政治行动中以及国家-社会关系中象征性与文化性的方面，在不同的社会文化环境下所表现出来的不同特征。从建构主义、政治符号学以及新制度主义的角度，我一直寻求解决的问题是我们的社会经验都是如何被赋予秩序，以及在不同的社会结构下，行动的意义是怎样被建构和解释的。我目前进行的研究包括中国政府公关行为的制度化，以及当代中国的符号性政治行动研究。
