Resume

Dr. Junsheng Liu is a professor at the School of Psychology and Cognitive Science, East China Normal University. He is the current director of the Institude of Developmental and Educational Psychology at the East China Normal University. He has received a Shuguang Scholars Award from the Shanghai Municipal Education Commission, a Pujiang Scholars Award from the Science and Technology Commission of Shanghai, and several other awards for his scientific work. He also  received the Visiting Scientists Fellowship Grant to the University of Western Ontario and the University of Pennsylvania (2010-2011) to engage in research exploring the meaning and implications of shyness and social withdrawal across different cultures. Additionally, Dr. Liu is an editorial board member of Journal of Research on Adolescence,Journal of Applied Developmental Psychology,Social Development, the Journal of Psychological Science, and the Journal of Bio-Education

Research Fields

Dr. Liu's general research interests are in the areas of children's socio-emotional functioning and developmental psychopathology. In particular, he is interested in the developmental processes of social competence, social withdrawal, and aggression/victimization, and biological and socialization factors that are involved in the processes.
