Zhen Chen, PhD, CCC-SLP is the Associate Professor in the Department of Rehabilitation Sciences at East China Normal University, the ASHA certified speech-language pathologist, the founder of the Speech and Voice Therapy Union at the Eye & ENT Hospital of Fudan University, the Adjunct Professor in the Department of Pediatrics at Tongren Hospital of Shanghai Jiaotong University, the recipient of Schaffer Scholarship from Harvard Medical School. He specializes in the assessment and treatment of voice disorders, speech sound disorders, and fluency disorders. He obtained Ph.D. degree in Speech and Hearing Sciences at Fudan University, M.A. degree in Speech Language Pathology at the University of Iowa, M.S. degree in Experimental Phonetics at the University of Alberta, and B.A. degree in Chinese Language at Fudan University.
He is the author of 2, the editor of 3, the translator of 2 monographs. He has published 12 SCI, SSCI, and Chinese core journal articles, authorized for 2 utility model patents (with 2 national invention patents under review), and hosts 1 project funded by Shanghai Social Science Foundation, participated in 3 projects funded by National Natural Science Foundation of China. He was invited to make presentations on international and domestic conferences 107 times. He was the winner of Outstanding Paper Award of the National Convention of Otolaryngology-HNS sponsored by Chinese Medical Association，Outstanding Paper Award of the National Convention on Pharynx and Throat sponsored by Chinese Medical Association. He is a reviewer of the Journal of Speech, Language, and Hearing Research, and trained 29 physicians and speech-language pathologists and 19 interns.
He served as the deputy director of the Voice Rehabilitation Division of the Rehabilitative Therapy Committee of the Chinese Rehabilitation Medical Association, the committee member of several national health professional organizations, and the standing committee member of Speech Therapy Committee of Shanghai Rehabilitation Medical Association. He is also the member of American Speech Language and Hearing Association and Voice Foundation.
