Chenxi

B.Eng. degree from Chongqing University, China, in 2002;

M.Eng. degree from Shantou University, China, in 2006;

Ph.D. from Shanghai Jiao Tong University, China, in 2011. 

He has held several academic positions, including a Postdoctoral Researcher at Purdue University, West Lafayette, IN, USA, and as a Researcher at the Key Laboratory of Geographic Information Science (Ministry of Education of China) within the School of Geographical Sciences. Dr. Chen was accepted as an Erasmus+ participant by the University of the Aegean and visited the Department of Mathematics and Information Technology at The Education University of Hong Kong under a Croucher Foundation Visitorship. Currently, he is a Professor at the Software Engineering Institute, East China Normal University, Shanghai.

Dr. Chen serves as a Peer Reviewer for several internationaljournals, such as the IEEE TRANSACTIONS ON GEOSCIENCE AND REMOTE SENSING, the IEEEJOURNAL OF SELECTED TOPICS IN APPLIED EARTH OBSERVATIONS AND REMOTE SENSING,and the IEEE GEOSCIENCEAND REMOTE SENSING LETTERS. 

His research focuses on pattern recognition and image processing, particularly multimodal large language models.
