Dr. ZHANG Hong is an associate professor at the School of Geographic Sciences, East China Normal University. She also works at the Institute for Global Innovation Studies and the Institute of Cartography, both at East China Normal University. Dr. ZHANG earned her Bachelor's degree in Tourism Management in 2004 and her Master's degree in Human Geography in 2007, both from Hubei University. She obtained her Ph.D. in cartography and GIS from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University in 2011. She has held several academic positions, including a research associate at the School of Hotel and Tourism Management at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University in 2011 and an associate professor at the Faculty of Geosciences and Environmental Engineering of the Southwest Jiaotong University from 2011 to 2020. During her professional experience, Dr. ZHANG has led funding from various sources, such as the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC), the Natural Science Foundation of Shanghai, the Shanghai Philosophy and Social Science Project, and the Soft Science Foundation of Shanghai. She has authored over 70 papers, including over 30 SCI/SSCI papers. Her papers have been published in several journals, including the International Journal of Geographical Information Science, Annals of the American Association of Geographers, Journal of Transport Geography, and Applied Geography. Her research interests include urban evolution, spatial complexity, and digital humanities.
