Resume

Yuan Xie is currently a professor and doctoral supervisor at the school of computer science and technology, East China Normal University. He received the National Science Fund for excellent young scholars, and holds the honorary titles of “Minjiang Scholar” Lecture Professor, and Hong Kong Scholarship by the ministry of human resources and social security. He obtained his master degree from the department of computer science at Xiamen university in 2010 and his doctorate degree from the Institute of Automation, Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2013. In 2014, he went to the department of computing at Hong Kong Polytechnic University to engage in two years of postdoctoral research. He has previously served as an assistant professor (2013) and associate professor (2016) at the Institute of Automation, Chinese Academy of Sciences.

His main research areas are computer vision and machine learning, covering various sub-fields such as low-level vision, 3D perception for autonomous driving, cross-modal perception, cross-modal learning, few-shot learning, and continual learning. He has presided over several major projects, including the National Science Fund for excellent young scholars, the National Key Research and Development Program of China. He has published and accepted over 100 academic papers in authoritative journals (IEEE TPAMI/IJCV/TIP/TCYB/TNNLS/TKDE/TMM) and top conferences (CVPR/ICCV/ECCV/ICLR/ICML/NeurIPS/AAAI), of which more than 80 are first author/corresponding author papers in CCF A list. His papers have been cited over 9,000 times on Google Scholar. The image restoration algorithm he proposed won two championships in the image dehazing and demoire tracks of the IEEE CVPR NTIRE 2020 Challenge on Image and Video Restoration and Enhancement. He has served as the area chair/senior PC for IJCAI 2019-2022, and the area chair for CIKM 2019 and ACMMM 2023. His research achievements have won the Wu Wenjun Artificial Intelligence Science and Technology Award for Natural Science (Second Prize), the Shanghai Science and Technology Progress Special Award, and the Fujian Provincial Natural Science Second Prize.
