It is remain unclear whether these smORF-encoded proteins (SEPs or alt-proteins) are exist and functional broadly. Our lab are intrested in developing chemoproteomics pipelines to profiling these SEPs and alt-proteins, and functional study of these microproteins. It is remain unclear whether these smORF-encoded proteins (SEPs or alt-proteins) are exist and functional broadly. Our lab is currently working on: 1) Chemoproteomic profiling of mitochondrial unannotated SEPs and alt-proteins, with a focus on functional study of mitophagy related SEPs and alt-proteins; 2) Proteomic profiling of unannotated SEPs and alt-proteins expressed in mouse testis, and functional study of some of these SEPs and alt-proteins in mouse testis; 3) Proteomic profiling of unannotated SEPs and alt-proteins expressed in pancreatic cancer, and functional study of these SEPs and alt-proteins in pancreatic cancer development; 4) Chemoproteomic profiling of secreted unannotated SEPs and alt-proteins expressed in mouse sertoli cells or pancreatic cancer cells, and functional study of these SEPs and alt-proteins.
